“Her Majlis” Exhibition Debuts at the HBKU Gallery in Doha

Visit our museum exhibition on Qatari women’s majalis at the HBKU Student Gallery from now until Oct. 12th.

The last component of our academic research project on Qatari women’s civic engagement via female majalis is here!

Over the past year, my colleagues and I have presented on this topic at several conferences. In two special classes that I co-taught, I supervised our students’ creation of three documentary films plus the museum installation.

Now the final component has launched. The museum installation features the three documentary films, plus beautiful photography, vinyl wall displays and an in-person recreation of the female majlis space.

You can view the exhibit until Oct 12th at the HBKU Student Gallery in Education City. It’s open everyday from morning till 10pm (except Friday, when the museum opens at 1pm).
