Presenter at WAPOR and Center for Gulf Studies Conferences

Past and upcoming presentations about our research on Qatari women and majalis al-hareem.

March 2015 – As part of our ongoing research into Qatari women’s civic engagement via majalis al-hareem (women’s gatherings), my colleague Kirsten Pike and I presented our latest findings at the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) regional conference in Doha on Monday, March 9th, 2015. There, Kirsten and I spoke about the results of our team’s public opinion survey of 1,049 Qatari women on their economic, social and political views.

Likewise, this Saturday, March 14th, Sadia Mir and I will be in Kuwait for the Center for Gulf Studies Conference at the American University of Kuwait. This time, we’ll be speaking about the qualitative research aspects of the project (such as the ethnographic observations our students conducted, and the photographic and documentary film work they produced).

Stay tuned for more updates about this exciting project!

Here are some news articles about the presentations from The Peninsula Qatar and The Gulf Times.
